Rochester vs Dexter

Rochester looks like he's finally beginning to realise that Dex is here to stay. He's spent most of the weekend trying to be in a different room to Dex. Every so often, however, he forgets that he's supposed be sulking and joins in the stick chasing or the lap sitting. Of course, it only takes him a minute or two to remember the other cat - usually when he comes into line of sight and goes off to sulk again!

That said, they were witnessed sharing the sofa last night!

A new addition

This is Dexter. Technically he's Dr K's birthday present, but he was ready, and we picked him up today.

Rochester is decidedly unimpressed!

Once I'd coaxed Dexter out from under the study sofa, we carefully introduced them. Rochester was sitting at the bottom of the stairs, blissfully unaware that his life was about to turned upside down! Dexter was at the top!

Now it's probably worth pointing out that while Dexter had just come from a cattery full of his brothers and siters, Rochester hasn't shared a house with another cat since Ellie died a few years ago. this was never gonna go well.

Anyway, Dexter came to the top of the stairs and saw Rochester. Absolutely delighted to see what he considered a friendly face (well, furry, anyway) he bounded gleefully down the stairs to say hello! Rochester, on the other hand, who wasn't expecting to be charged by a kitten, was a little startled and spat in the poor little guy's face!

Heh. the start of a beautuiful friendship!

Expect the blog to be littered with cute pussy pictures for a few weeks!

Sweeteners

About an hour ago, one of my workmates convinced me to hold a sweetner tablet on the tip of my tounge. I can still taste it.
